THE GRAND FINALE!

What You Talkin' 'bout Willis?

After this long, long, long process I have learned many new things about the 80's generation. My question is How do you think the 80's generation affected our way of life and was it a positive or a negative affect. I have went on websites to find information and even did a few interviews to conclude whether the 80's shaped our way of living today.

I have learned that not only did the fashion of the 80's affect our fashion today, but the music did as well. Many musicians today still use music beats from the 80's. Such artists as Missy Elliot, Ll Cool J, Jenifer Lopez have incorporated music beats and different lyrics. I plan on bringing in some different types of music to display how artists today use the tracks from the 80'sand make hit records.

Fashion has to be one of the most influential things that affected our vision of how clothing should be worn. Every girl today probably has a pair of leggings in every color to match every long tunic shirt and little ballet flats to complete the outfit. Leg warmers are worn to accessorise the outfit. Dukie Chains our a nice piece of jewelry to add to the outfit. These our all fashion fads of the 80's, that we now were today.

I think the 80's had a positive effect on our culture. The fashion was crazy yet unique, the music was fun and not as vulgar, the hairstyles were fierce, the sitcoms will influence many to come, the movies were classic, the people were rebellious and spoke their mind, and the lingo is STELLAR!

All in all I have learned so many new facts about the 80's. The 80's was a very intriguing era. People who lived through the 80's still remember the good times they had. The 80's was a time for women to express themselves. It was also time of fun and new beginnings.

Searching Citcom's

The Bill Cosby show was one of the most influential sitcom of the 80's. The show went against all of the stereo types towards African American families. In the show Bill Cosby and his wife were both very successful in their careers and had a loving family, which you weren't used to seeing in the 80's sitcoms and movies. Most of the 80's movies and sitcoms that had African Americans in it were all based on drugs, violence, sex, and gangs. The Bill Cosby show was a start to all the comedic family sitcoms to come.

Now I am wondering if any of our fads and television sitcoms today will influence any other generation. But then I realized everything we our today comes from not only the 80's generation but all of the earlier decades as well.

80's Lingo!

Fashion, music, and television personalities are not the only things that influenced the 80's. I researched more online and found a website called "80's Retro Rage ". This site showed all of the 80's lingo that some people use in conversations today.

One of my favorite phrases is "like". I must use this at least thirty times a day. Like most girls do. In a popular MTV reality show called "Laguna Beach" the teenage guys use the word "stoked" allot while surfing. I didn't realize how much of the 80's really effected my generation.

Alicia Silverstone played a girl from Beverly Hills in the popular 80's movie "Clueless". Where the famous phrase "AS IF?" orginated from. Their were many more phrases from the 80's that people use today.
